Classical Music(Part 1)

Ragas is a set of different sounds.Ragas come from different countries e.g raga bhopali came from bhopal, raga pahari from kashmir, raga sindhra and sindhi bhairvi from sindh, raga bhairoon/bhairav from Makkah. It means when Allah created this universe he also gifted many areas with there own sounds which are called ragas.

Then many people made these sounds more clear and worked on them. They modified them and also created new ragas. In many religions music is way to worship god.

So in subcontinent many muslims also worked on it.there are many great names like Mian Taan Sain, Beju Bawra, Ustad Baray Ghulam Ali Khan, Ustad Barkat Ali Khan, Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, Ustad Nazakat Ali Khan, Ustad Amanat Ali Khan and many other great names.I would like to mention one thing here that the real name of Mian Taan Sain is Mian Tarlochan.
There were two styles of sangeet, one was "aakar ki gaiki" and "sargam ki gaiki" There are many different types of classical music like Khayal,  Dhurpad, Tarana and Ghazal. But now a days there are many styles of singing in Pakistan...

To be continued...

  1. The Raag Bhairav is NOT from Mecca nor did it have any link with Islam...if you pay close attention to the word 'Bhairav'-it clearly indicates to the Hindhoo God Bhairav aka Lord Shiv...Lord Bhairav was a incarnation of Lord Shiv...same goes for the Raag Bhairavee/Bhairavi...she is the consort of Lord Bhairav...masculine: Bhairav and feminine: Bhairavee...the Raag Bhairav has NO link with an Islamic original as you are trying to show...please remove the incorrect information...
